It seems to me that if you are going to argue that the War of Independence was revolutionary in impact, you need to compare the changes here with those in Britain. Certainly, the economic changes were more profound there. We got a republic and they didn't, so there is that but we didn't surpass them economically until we had become our own imperial power and the Founders republic was in the rear view mirror. You focus on the Puritans in the spirit of Weber but the colonies were quite diverse. PA was Quaker, MD was Catholic, VA was Anglican, NY was Dutch Reformed, GA was convicts, probably Irish and Catholic.
