The Good

The Bad
Just remember: the average private school tuition in Los Angeles is $14,903. Now scroll down and tell me why you think America’s government schools serve the “common good.”

These are the crazy years. Governor Andrew Cuomo’s daughter has just come out of the closet as “demi-sexual,” not that there’s anything wrong with that of course. I’m still not clear, though, what the definition of “demi-sexual” is, but then again definitions are so old-fashioned. Story at the link here:
America’s suicide watch. What happens when the Ruling Class hates the country it rules? I think we call it institutionalized suicide. “Mainstream media, Democratic lawmakers bash America throughout Fourth of July weekend.”

The end justified the means. Lying is telling the truth for the greater good: “Teachers union chief: We don't teach Critical Race Theory. Teachers union: Teaching Critical Race Theory is important.”
The “stupid party” just got a whole lot stupider. Banning CRT from the government schools is just another pathetic GOP Band-Aid strategy to evade the real problem. This is entirely cosmetic. Does the GOP really think that by banning CRT legislatively it will go away? The GOP will ban CRT, pat themselves on the back, and then they will go back to sleep as it is taught anyway under a different name. If the GOP wants to kill CRT, it should do two things: 1) give parents tuition tax credits and let the parents choose how and where to educate their kids; and, 2) defund the so-called “ed schools” or teacher-training institutions. “Arizona Gov. Ducey signs bill banning critical race theory from schools, state agencies.”
What the hell is this? This is the most bizarre thing I’ve seen in a long time. There is some weird stuff happening in this country. “‘Rise of the Moors’ Militia Group Arrest Does Not Fit The Media and Government Narrative.”
The Ugly
This will, I promise, make your stomach turn. This is what your kids are learning in the government schools. And the argument for the government schools is . . . again . . . please remind me Professor Vermeule . . . ?
Not really sure whether to classify this under “the Good,” “the Bad,” or “the Ugly.” An argument could be made for each: “Sex Ed Teacher Who Taught 6-Year-Olds About Masturbation Resigns, Blames Bosses.”
OH Canada! What hath thou become? “ORWELLIAN: Canada Moves to Ban 'Hate Speech' Online, Punishable by a $40,000 Fine.”
Some really bad and ominous things are happening in the Great White North (white of course referring to snow), but you do know, right, that it’s for the “common good” and the “common good” is, well, really good, or so the Three Stooges of the reactionary Right (i.e., Vermeule, Deneen, and Ahmari) tell me: “Canadian official admits ban on in-person gatherings is to prevent spread of ‘false information’.”
. . . and the Beautiful
I’ve always loved Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken,” but I was entirely unprepared to hear this recording of the poet reading his poem. Truth be told, I was actually quite shaken by it.
