The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (No. 72)

Untimely Thoughts on a World in Transition

A good friend of mine recently criticized “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” because it focuses too much on “the Bad” and “the Ugly.” I think he’s both right and wrong. He’s right in that “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” can sometimes read as an all-around depressant. The human soul requires positive or nutritious food on which to thrive. To that end, I’ve tried to rejigger the algorithm to give the reader a more positive reading experience. (I will tell you, though, it’s getting harder and harder with every passing day to find “the good” out there. If anyone knows of a good site where I can get good news, please leave a comment.) On the other hand, we can’t evade reality. It’s important to know what’s really going on in the world if we’re going fix it and make it better.

Still, my friend is right, and I’ll try to give y’all a more positive experience.

THE GOOD
